Rock Island Auction Company is proud to offer a pair of consecutively serialized number 03 and 04 Walther Model "AP" (Armee-Pistole) prototype pistol rigs. This lot consists of lot numbers 1419 and 1420. During this time the Walther factory was continuing to experiment and prototype this design to see which features worked the best from both a functioning and a production aspects, so many of these early "Armee Pistols" were slightly different, so each one should be considered a separate design/development model. Taken as individual weapons, each pistol in this lot would be of value in virtually any collection of German or Walther military arms and serves as a showcase for the evolution of German military side arm development; taken as a whole, the pistols would be the centerpiece of a highly advanced collection. If there are no bids above the cumulative lot total for the pair then the individual bids on each item will be considered final. If there is a bid above the cumulative total the individual bids will be rejected and the highest bid as a pair will stand.
