A takedown variant of the Type 99 Arisaka designed to be carried disassembled by paratroopers when jumping and then put together on the ground. Blade front and folding rear sights with anti-aircraft wings, with a ground mum on the receiver. Matching "344" assembly numbers are present on the takedown hardware, and matching partial serial numbers are on the bayonet lug, barrel locking lug, bolt handle, extractor, safety knob and firing pin. Smooth pistol grip stock, with grasping grooves on the forearm and a steel buttplate. Included with the rifle is a late-war Jinsen Arsenal bayonet, 20 inches overall with a 15 1/2 inch blade, straight guard, smooth grips and a cord-wrapped wood sheath.

Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild spotting and scattered handling marks. The mum is ground. The wood is also very fine, with some dents and scuffs. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is in similar condition to the rifle.
