This is an attractive example of a late production commercial DWM Model 1906 American Eagle Luger. These early commercial Lugers are some of the best Lugers produced by the DWM factory. They feature excellent fit and finish with beautiful blued metal parts and straw colors on the smaller components. The model has the correct short style frame and upper receiver with the 4 5/8th inch tapered barrel. The chamber area is roll marked with the distinctive "American Eagle" crest, and the DWM monogram is on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension, underside of the barrel and both the breechblock and front toggle are stamped with the standard commercial "crown/N" proof. The front of the frame is marked with the full serial number over "GERMANY" indicating export outside of Europe. The left side of the breechblock and front toggle are stamped with the last two digits of the serial number, as are the various other parts. The pistol is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips. It is complete with a correct magazine that has a nickel-plated body with an unmarked wooden base.

Excellent with 97% of the original blue finish with only minor edge and high spot wear and blue loss on the side plate hump. The smaller parts retain 99% of their professionally restrawed colors. The walnut grips are in very fine condition with nice, sharp, distinct checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. A very fine DWM Model 1906 American Eagle Luger pistol.
