Description:

Produced in the 1920s and 1930s, Simson & Company was primarily a sporting arms company but as a result of political issues became the sole provider for Luger pistols to the Weimar Republic, refurbishing the Reichwehr's treaty-limited stock of handguns and producing needed replacements. Simson lost this privileged status with the rise of the Nazis. Blade and notch sights, with a blank chamber and "SIMSON & Co/SUHL" on the front toggle. Small "eagle/6" proofs and "eagle" firing proofs are present on multiple parts, with "eagle/33" on the right side of the extension. Fitted with straw finished small parts, checkered grips, and two aluminum base nickel magazines with matching numbers (the spare properly marked "+" as well).

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally restored, with 98% of the blue finish, showing a few mild dings and handling marks overall. The straw colors are slightly faded, though generally strong. The grips are fine, with some small chips near the safety and magazine catch. Both magazines are renumbered, with the catch notably worn, otherwise mechanically fine.
