This is an example of a 1938 dated Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol with the scarce early "Eagle/K" Nazi police proof. The chamber area is dated "1938," and the front toggle has the "Mauser Banner" logo. The "Eagle/K" police proof is stamped on the right side of the receiver, and the double "crown/U" commercial proofmark is stamped on the left side of the barrel extension and breechblock. The sear safety spring is present over the side plate, and no cuts have been made for a magazine well safety. It has standard safety and loaded markings and is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips. The right grip is numbered "87," and the left grip panel unnumbered. It has the all blued finish including on the smaller parts. It comes with one unmarked, blued magazine that has an aluminum base that has been restamped with only "7087/v/+."

Very fine with 90% of the blue finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear mixed with some cold on the side plate. The grip straps show some thinning of the blue mixed with some brown undertones. The grips are in excellent condition with nice, distinct, original checkering on both sides mixed with some light handling marks. It has matching numbers on the various parts, except as noted above. Mechanically excellent.
