Description:

This is a very fine example of a DWM Model 1908 Commercial Luger semi-automatic pistol. Based on the serial number range this example was probably manufactured in early 1912. These early commercial Lugers lack a hold open device, were not manufactured with a stock lug and no grip safety. It has the blank chamber with the standard DWM marked front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension, breechblock, toggle and barrel are all stamped with the later "crown/N" commercial proofs. It is fitted with a set of unnumbered checkered walnut grips and is complete with one nickel plated magazine with an unnumbered wooden base. It has the standard loaded and safe markings, and it has not been modified for a hold open device. It has the early high polish commercial blue with straw colored smaller parts and the heat blued toggle pin and grip screws.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% of the original blue finish with some minor touch up on the side plate and muzzle. The smaller parts retain 98% of their restrawed colors overall. The walnut grips are also in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering showing some minor handling marks in a couple places. It has matching numbers except the magazine as noted. Mechanically excellent.
