Barrel: 3 1/4 inch round
Finish: blue
Grip: plastic

Item Views: 1924

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

Manufactured in the early 1930s, as part of the "776,xxx-780,xxx" serial number range of the 6.35mm (25 ACP) Walther PPK Pistol. Externally nearly identical to the standard 7.65mm PPK save for the change in the caliber marking, the interior shows a set of milled panels inside the slide to compensate for the increased weight of the barrel and aid cycling with the reduced power cartridge, and a magazine that is essentially a Walther pocket pistol magazine professionally slotted into a PPK magazine. The proper hand-scribed partial serial number is also present inside the slide, with "crown/N" proofs on the muzzle, chamber hood and slide, a 90 degree safety, smooth trigger and wrap-around Walther banner grips. Noted by serial number on page 76 of "Walther Models PP and PPK 1929-1945" by James Rankin.

Rating Definition:

Fine as partially refinished (cold blue touch-ups visible on slide, rear of frame and front strap), with 80% of the blue finish, showing some bright edge wear, areas of brown patina, and scattered light scratches and spotting. The safety has been refinished. The grips are flexing outward at the top obstructing the safety and show some hairline cracks, but are otherwise very good. Mechanically excellent.
