Description:

Tan cotton exterior construction with a trimmed Luftwaffe eagle patch on the crown over a tricolor cockade on the band. The interior is lined in red cotton, size marked 58 1/2. Originally intended for general issue to officers and enlisted men, the "Hermann Meyer" was discontinued in 1942 in favor of a Heer-style cap, though some officers were known to have retained theirs through the Italian Campaign.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall, showing a field-worn "salty" appearance, with staining and wear, and the eagle patch shows some fraying and lost stitching which was possibly re-sown. The neck protector and chin strap are now absent, with 2 buttons also missing and the third damaged.
