Located within one of the serial number ranges noted in "Axis Pistols" by Jan Still (pg. 236), examples of police marked Walther are disproportionately scarce on the American market for the number produced, especially high quality examples such as this. Fixed sights, with the left side of the slide showing the Walther banner, two-line address and caliber mark, and "Mod. PPK", with the "eagle/N" proof on the right side of the muzzle, chamber and slide, the proper hand-scribed matching number inside the slide and the "eagle/swastika C" police acceptance proof on the left side of the frame. Fitted with a smooth trigger, serrated ring hammer, 60 degree safety, checkered wraparound Walther grips and a flat magazine base numbered "566" to match the pistol. Included with the pistol is a second flat base magazine numbered like the first, and a black leather belt holster marked "KernKlager&Co/1940/Berlin/eagle" on the body.

Excellent, with 98% plus original blue finish, showing bright edge wear, scattered handling marks and a few small hints of spotting. The grip is excellent, with a solid fit and crisp checkering. 95% original nitre blue remains on safety. The police proof and one of the magazine numbers appear double-struck, a factory error. The attractive holster is excellent with slight flexing visible and solid white stitching. Mechanically excellent.
