Introduced late in WWII, the "Kriegsmodell" (War Model) 98k was designed for easier and faster production, increasing the number of stamped components while eliminating some features. Fitted with a hooded blade front and tangent rear sight, with a "K" and a small shield stamp on the breech and "Mod.98/bnz45" on the receiver ring. Fitted with a stamped "svw" trigger guard, "byf" floor plate and a pair of screw-secured stamped and welded barrel bands. Smooth pistol grip stock with a laminated handguard, brown leather sling, "eagle/swastika/H" Heer stamp on the right buttstock and a cupped steel buttplate

Excellent. 98% plus original gray phosphate finish remains with scattered handling marks, small dings, and traces of edge and high point wear. The wood is also excellent with mostly light handling marks and a cleaned buttplate. Mechanically excellent. The sling is also excellent.
