This is a nice example of a 1939 dated Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol with the scarce early "Eagle/K" police proof. The chamber area is dated "1939", and the front toggle has the "Mauser Banner" logo. The "Eagle/K" police proof is stamped on the right side of the receiver, with the "crown/crown/U" commercial proofmark stamped on the left side of the receiver and the breechblock. The sear safety spring is present over the side plate, and no cuts have been made for a magazine well safety. Matching numbers are present on the barrel, extension, takedown latch, side plate, trigger, sear, safety, hold-open, toggle pin, toggle assembly, firing pin, the grips and the magazine. Finish is full blue, with checkered grips, blued magazine with numbered aluminum base, nickel magazine with "eagle/655" aluminum base, a black leather holster marked "CARL HEPTING & CO./STGT. FEUERBACH/1939" and "WaA101" on the back, and a blued steel takedown tool.

Very fine as professionally refinished, showing 98% plus blue with some light edge wear and handling marks overall. Some light scratches are present on the side plate, and buff marks are on the rails. The magazine has been renumbered to match. The grips are very good, with a few dark spots and crisp checkering. The holster is good, with a small amount of lost stitching on the hinge. Mechanically excellent.
