Description:

Manufactured circa 1928-1929, by serial number this is the 559th Walther PP semi-automatic pistol, representing the very beginning of production for a family of police, military and civilian handguns that would span decades, nations and continents. Fixed sights, with the Walther banner, two-line address and caliber markings and "Mod.PP" on the left side of the slide, the serial number stamped vertically on the right side of the frame, and "crown/N" proofs on the slide, frame and muzzle. In the traditional fashion, the last digits of the serial number are hand-scratched inside the slide. Fitted with a 90 degree safety, niter blue small parts, checkered Walther banner grips, and a flat bottom Walther marked magazine.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 97% of the blue finish, showing bright edge wear and scattered handling marks overall, as well as some spotting beneath the grip panels. The niter blue components are turning a gray patina, with vivid color remaining on the extractor and on the right side of the magazine catch. The grips are fine with some turn marks on and around the screw, a small chip absent from the right panel, and mild dings. The grip panel obstructs the safety, but otherwise the pistol is mechanically excellent.
