Description:

This is a WWII U.S. Remington Army Model 11 riot shotgun that was manufactured in 1943. These were their commercial hunting shotguns that were manufactured in a riot configuration under a military contract during WWII. The upper left side of the receiver is roll marked "U.S." next to the "Ordnance Shell and Flame"; however, it does not have the usual military finish markings. The lower areas retained standard Remington hunting scenes on both sides of the receiver, with "Remington/Reg.U.S.Pat.OFF./465991" at the lower left side. The barrel has the standard two line Remington factory address and patent dates followed by a "U.S./Ordnance Shell and Flame" marking. The lower left side is stamped "12 GA 2 3/4 inch shells" followed by "CYL", and the "PL" date code. It has a single nickel bead front sight. It has the standard commercial walnut stock and forend that has a multi-point checkered pattern on both sides of the pistol grip and the underside of the forend. The stock has the standard Remington marked serrated plastic buttplate. The left side of the stock is stamped with the Crossed Cannons ordnance proof but no FJA cartouche. 13 1/4 inch length of pull.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 95 % of the original blue finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear. The stock and forend are both in fine condition with a nice medium brown color overall with nice distinct checkering overall. The forend shows some minor light handling marks, and the pistol grip area shows scattered handling marks in the checkering . The left and underside of the buttstock both show area of heavier pressure dent and dings. Mechanically excellent.
