Interesting Unidentified Experimental Semi-Automatic Pistol

Manufacturer: Unknown
Model: Semi-Automatic
Type: Pistol
Gauge: 380 ACP
Barrel: 3 3/4 inch round
Finish: blue
Grip: hard rubber
Stock:
Item Views: 4931
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 343
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

Very similar in overall construction to the other example in this auction but likely at an earlier stage of development, with a ball detent-retained wedge securing the barrel and no integral safety devices, and the grip panels friction-fit into a set of dovetailed slots on either side of the grip frame. With an empty slot for a front sight, a notch rear sight and a nickel finished magazine.

Rating Definition:

Fair, with traces of blue in the protected areas and on some of the small parts, showing a mixed gray and brown patina overall, with some spotting, handling marks, a few small patches of pitting and mild tool marks. The grips are good, with some chips and cracks. Mechanically functions but does not engage striker.
