A) Scarce Savage Model 1915 Hammerless Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box

Description:

The Model 1915 pistol represents the rarest of the regular production Savage pistols with only approximately 6,500 manufactured between 1915 and 1917. The pistol features fixed blade and notch sights, standard markings on the slide top and frame, serrated slide release on the right side of the frame, casehardened trigger, and a grip safety. Fitted with checkered Savage "Indian head" logo grips. Includes a Savage factory box numbered to the gun. This is a scarce pistol with an even scarcer original box.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus original blue finish remaining with some light handling marks, light edge wear, and some light freckling on the grip straps. The grips are also excellent with some light handling marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good plus with some light corner and edge wear and handling marks.

The pistol features fixed blade front and rear notch sights, two-line address and caliber marking on the top of the slide, casehardened trigger and hammer, unmarked safety switch, and is fitted with early metal checkered Savage "Indian head" logo metal grips. The pistol includes an article from the 2009 Gun Digest Collector's Guide where this pistol is photographed and identified by serial number.

Rating Definition:

Very good with 85% plus original blue finish remaining with some moderate edge wear, handling marks, light surface scratches, a mottled brown patina on the back strap and thinning on the front strap. The grips are very good with edge and high point wear and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
