Manufactured in 1968. According to noted Winchester arms collector Peter Murray, this is one of less than a dozen Winchester Model 70 single shot rifles in 243 WCF. Scope blocks are mounted on the receiver and barrel with the heavy barrel tapped for sight mounting near the muzzle. Standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Jeweled bolt numbered to the gun, sight screw replacing a receiver filler screw, and smooth target stock with accessory rail and three sling swivels. The Winchester factory box is numbered to the gun with the caliber and "Single Shot" hand written. Formerly of the Peter and Patty Murray Collection.

Excellent. The rifle retains 99% plus original blue finish showing the slightest handling marks. Rifle has glass bedding with putty filler used around the left side of the receiver tang. The wood is also excellent with a few minor handing marks. Mechanically functions, but bolt does not have retention when retracted. The box is fine with a couple of tears.
