These shotguns each feature single nickel bead sights on the matte solid ribs, "CHURCHILL./GUNMAKERS/LTD" and "ORANGE ST, GUNWORKS, LEICESTER SQUARE LONDON" markings on the right and left barrels respectively, 2 3/4 inch chambers, and improved cylinder/modified chokes on the "A" gun. The rib extension of each gun is marked with a gold inlaid "1" or "2". The receivers feature tight fine English floral scroll engraving with "CHURCHILL" in banners on either side. The action feature dual triggers, and automatic tang mounted thumb safeties. Mounted on nicely figured multi-point checkered splinter forearms and straight grip stock with checkered bare butts. Each buttstock has an inward curve for a right handed shooter. Additional barrel and stock measurements for the "A" gun are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .732/.731 inches; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .054/.055 inches; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/8 inches; length of pull 14 inches. The leather bound takedown case features brass corner bolsters, large blank brass plaque on the lid, E.J. Churchill retail label on the underside of the lid, and includes 2 snap caps with extra springs.

Fine with 95% of the refinished blue and faint traces of original case colors on the frame. The barrel rib shows softened matting and edges, buffed light and blued in markings on the barrels, light pitting near the muzzle, and handling marks. The frame has aged to a mostly silver gray patina with handling marks and fine engraving. The reoiled wood is fine with handling marks throughout, small chips and dings near the butt, and rich color. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with storage and handling marks, aged patina on the brass, and some staining of the interior.

Fine with 90% of the refinished blue and traces of the original case colors on the receiver. The barrel markings appear slightly buffed and blued in with soft edges and matting on the rib. The receiver has aged to a mostly silver/gray patina with handling marks and attractive engraving. The reoiled wood has well defined checkering, handling marks, a gloss finish to the forearm and the buttstock is flat. Mechanically excellent.
