Description:

This Model 1884 is marked with a crisp "SWP/1888" cartouche on the left side of the stock over the trigger. The stock also has a crisp circle script "P" to the rear of the trigger guard tang. The lock has the standard markings. The barrel bands have "U"s on the right. The low arch breechblock is marked "U.S./MODEL/1873", and "422648" is at the rear. The barrel has the standard proofs. The solid buttplate is marked "US". The rifle is equipped with a blade front sight that doubles as the bayonet stud, an "R" marked Buffington rear sight, grooved trigger, two piece trigger guard, and a leather sling. A slotted cleaning rod is included.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 85% plus of the original finishes remain. There is some slight brown patina forming and minor fading at the muzzle. The very fine stock has some abrasions and minor marks. The lock functions fine, and the markings are crisp throughout.
