Description:

Manufactured in the early 1890s. Surviving examples of the Model 1890 are very scarce and very desirable. The revolver has the distinctive round barrel that lacks the web beneath the ejector housing found on Model 1875 Remington revolvers. The barrel is fitted with a German silver front blade sight and is marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION. N.Y." The caliber designation "44 C.F.W." (.44-40) is stamped on the left side of the frame below the cylinder.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver has a very dark brown patina mixed with hints of bright original blue throughout and a few areas of lighter patina on the edges. There are patches of pitting ranging from light to moderate and various minor marks. The grips are also good and have fairly crisp checkering, two large chips missing around the lanyard base, and some minor scrapes and dings. The action functions fine, and the markings are clear.
