Description:

20,000 of these revolvers are estimated to have been manufactured in the 1860s by the Manufacturing Company of New York City for Plant's Manufacturing Company. Some are marked by various agents as well including this example which is marked "MERWIN &BRAY. FIRE-ARMS CO. N.Y." on the top of the rib. It has the patent marking on the cylinder, a blade front sight, frame groove rear sight, ejector, and varnished grips. They fire .30 caliber cup primed cartridges loaded from the front of the cylinder.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 85% of the original silver plating remains on the frame and 40% of the bright original high polish blue finish remains, primarily on the cylinder. The brass and silver both display honest aged patina, and the exposed iron has gray and brown patina and some very faint pitting. The grips are very good and have some nicks and edge wear. The action functions fine and the markings are crisp.
