Description:

The Rider pistols were manufactured from 1871 to 1888 and were among the first firearms to employ tubular magazines. This example is unembellished. The Rider pistols are one of the few instances in American firearms history where engraved specimens are more commonly encountered than plain. The top barrel flat has the two-line address and 1871 patent date marking. It has a nickel plated finish on the major components, blued hammer and breechblock, and smooth walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 70% plus of the frosted original nickel plating remains. There are some slight factory blemishes in the metal and general light handling and storage marks. The grips are very good and have some mild handling and storage wear. The action functions fine, and the markings are crisp.
