Manufactured in 1877. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line address, the left side of the frame is marked with the three-line, three-patent dates and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked "45 CAL". The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap, and the partial serial number "5702" is on the barrel and cylinder. The loading gate has the assembly number "2240". Blade front and frame notch rear sights, early "bullseye" head on the ejector rod, blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer and fitted with a smooth one-piece walnut grip.

Fine. The revolver retains 25% original blue finish and 30% original case colors in and around the protected areas with the balance a smooth gray patina. There is some minor pitting (mostly concentrated on the cylinder). The grip is very fine showing some high edge wear and some minor handling marks with 70% of the original varnish remaining.
