Manufactured in 1897. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line Colt address, the left side is marked "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER", and the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, three-patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The loading gate is marked with the assembly number "340". Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, all nickel finish and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter copy verifies the caliber, barrel length, nickel finish, rubber grips and that it was shipped as 1 of 5 to Colt's San Francisco Agency, San Francisco, California, on November 17, 1897.

Fine. The revolver retains 50% original nickel finish with a gray patina on the balance and showing some pitting on the cylinder and frame. The oversize replacement grips are very good with a couple minor dings and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp. The action is fine.
