Several thousand Sharps pepperbox pistols were manufactured in a variety of variations in 1859 to 1874. This example has the standard C. Sharps & Co. marking on the right, the patent marking on the left, matching serial numbers and is fitted with fancy floral pattern gutta percha grips.

Fine. 85% plus of the bright original blue finish remains on the barrel group, and the frame has traces of original silver with dark, nearly black, aged patina. The brass has attractive aged patina, and the grips are also fine and have an aged brown tone and crisp floral patterns. The action functions fine, and the markings are crisp.
