The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, the left side "45 COLT" and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three-patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. Matching serial number on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened frame and fitted with checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt/American eagle grips.

Fine. The revolver retains 30% original blue finish heaviest on the top of the ejector housing and concentrated mainly in protected areas. The frame has a smooth mottled gray patina with 25% plus of the original case colors in protected areas. The hammer has a dark patina with a small amount of minor pitting. The correct replacement grips have faded to brown and remain fine with distinct checkering. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. A solid representative example of a black powder Colt Single Action Army revolver.
