This revolver was manufactured in 1879 and is one of only a few produced with a long barrel. Many had the shorter 2 1/4 inch barrels, and they were available in either .38 centerfire or rimfire. This example is in the Second Model configuration and has standard sights, the two-line address on top of the extra length 4 inch barrel, the patent marking and matching serial number on the bottom of the barrel, "38 CAL C" on the left side of the frame under the cylinder, long fluted cylinder with the matching partial serial number on the rear face, and smooth rosewood grips.

Very good as period replated with most of the finish remaining. Light handling and storage type marks overall, slight rubbing on the raised edges of the grips, and a small handcut "XX" marking on the right grip panel. Mechanically fine.
