Description:

Colt's Cloverleaf model was one of their first two revolvers specifically designed for metallic cartridges and pre-dates the famous Colt Single Action Army and the Open Top. This example was manufactured in 1871 and is marked with the two-line address between Maltese crosses on the top of the barrel, no patent date in the top strap flute, and matching serial numbers on the barrel, cylinder, and butt.

Rating Definition:

Fine. 60% plus of the frosted original nickel plating remains on the barrel and frame; the only noticeable flaking is on the right side just ahead of the cylinder at the bottom. The cylinder has gray patina and some mild pitting. The grips are also very good and have mild handling wear and several small dings. The action functions fine and the markings are crisp.
