Description:

Israel Segalas was a French Huguenot who migrated to England in the late 17th century and was active as a gunmaker in London in the early 18th century. Many, likely most, pistols signed "Segallas" or "Segalas" were actually manufactured in France and Belgium by other gunmakers looking to capitalize on his name. This example is marked "London" on the right, "Segallas" on the left in script and has fancy scrollwork throughout. The removable "cannon" barrels are rifled.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The pistol has some light patina and faint pitting. The locks function fine, and the markings are crisp. Mechanically fine.
