Description:

This all metal flintlock pistol, possibly of Scottish origin, has an engraving on most of the components. All sides of the frame and the lock plate feature a floral scroll engraving with a mix of line and floral borders. A simple double line pattern is featured on the forearm. Floral engraved motifs are also engraved on the top of the round barrel section. The barrel has an octagon cannon type muzzle that gauges at approximately .52 caliber and a fluted section at the rear. The pistol shows signs of originally having a high polished blue finish. A belt hook is mounted on the left side of the stock. A pick, which has an engraved rounded pommel that matches the trigger, is attached to the butt.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The frizzen spring and top jaw retain heavy amounts of original blue finish with traces of original blue remaining on the belt hook, otherwise the very crisp pistol has an overall bright untouched original appearance that is taking on an attractive aged patina. A really nice pistol!
