Description:

This mid-19th century revolver is marked "1316/DEVISME" on the right side of the barrel lug and also has Devime's hallmark on the bottom of the frame ahead of the trigger guard and on the front face of the cylinder. There are also some small Belgian proofmarks and a "HOCOUR" stamp on the cylinder. A rammer is screwed into the butt. The burl walnut grips are smooth and secured by two screws.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel and cylinder retain 40% of the fading original blue finish, and the remaining metal surfaces have gray patina with some oil stains. There are some scattered spots of minor oxidation and pitting. The slightly undersize, revarnished grips are very good and have attractive figure and some light dings and scratches. It is mechanically fine and has legible markings.
