Description:

This is a fine example of an original WWII German sniper scope that was used on the K98 low turret sniper rifles. Equipped with a lockable elevation adjustment knob and a three-post reticle, with the left side marked "DIALYTAN 4X 65938/bmj +", "i/9453" on the front ring, and "9453" on the bottom of the windage base for the rear ring. With a tan painted metal field case, marked "WaA5(illegible)" and "jvb" (Wessel & Mueller, Luckenwalde) on the back of the lid, with a canvas tab on the latch and brown felt pads on the interior.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 80% original blue finish, showing some light wear and spotting overall. The case shows 60% plus period tan paint finish, with edge wear and scuffs. Optics are slightly hazy but otherwise in fine order.
