This is an example of a very late production Series II "P" Code commercial Krieghoff Luger pistol with a matching magazine and accessories. This series of Luger pistol is described on pages 220-227 of the book "The Krieghoff Parabellum" by Gibson. This unique example has the C-3 die stamp on the front toggle with the late vertical "Eagle/N" commercial proof marks on the left side frame rail, barrel extension and the underside of the barrel. These Lugers were a continuation of the early 1940 contract that falls into the serial number range of P1060 to P1280" with a total estimated production of approximately 200. It is correctly numbered in a commercial manner with the full serial number stamped on the front of the frame and left side of the barrel extension with only the side plate stamped with the last two digits (30) of the serial number. This specific pistol has the blank chamber with the Krieghoff marked toggle. The right side of the barrel extension is stamped with the small Krieghoff rejection star indicating it was a Luftwaffe rejection contract pistol that was assembled for commercial sale using some military parts. This pistol has the high polish Krieghoff blue finish with the straw colored smaller parts and is fitted with a set of late pattern commercial brown plastic grips with the fine checkering and smooth outer border. This pistol comes with one Haenel Schmeisser marked chrome plated magazine with an aluminum base that has been renumbered "1130" with no other proofs. This scarce Luger comes with a current custom case that holds one original Winchester box of 9 mm Luger ammunition, two additional unmarked chrome plated magazines with unmarked aluminum bases, unmarked takedown tool, pin-punch and brass cleaning rod with a blued oiler/handle on the end.

Excellent with 97% plus of the original blued finish overall with edge and high spot wear with thinning/blue loss on the lower rear grip strap and stock lug area, as well as the front edges of the frame rails and muzzle area. The grips are in very fine condition with distinct checkering on both sides mixed with some minor handling marks overall with a minor gouge on the lower rear edge. The smaller parts retain 85% of their straw colors overall. The various accessories are all in very fine condition and the custom storage case is in near mint condition.
