The included capture papers confirm the model, serial number, caliber, and May 18, 1969 date of registration as a war trophy to a Sgt. Robert Ferguson with Company C, 5th Battalion, 12th Infantry division of the 199th Infantry Brigade. Standard hooded post front and tangent rear sights with the "triangle/26" factory marking on the left side of the receiver followed by three Chinese characters and the serial number. The matching partial serial number is stamped on top of the bolt, the underside of the magazine, the trigger guard, and the left side of the buttstock. Fitted with a folding spike bayonet. Mounted with a hardwood pistol grip stock and vented handguard with grasping grooves, and a flat steel buttplate with trapdoor containing a cleaning kit. Includes a tan canvas web sling.

Good. Traces of original thinning blue finish remains with spotting and pitting throughout. The wood is fair with field tack repairs at the forend, repaired break at the toe, handling marks, and small scattered indentations and gouges. Mechanically excellent.
