This is an excellent example of a pre-war Mauser Model 1895 Chilean contract rifle. The top of the receiver ring has the large Chilean crest, and the left receiver side wall is marked: "MAUSER CHILENO MODELO 1895/MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN". It has the early style flat tangent rear sight graduated from "5-19" (500-1900 meters) and a fixed front sight. This rifle has all milled components and is fitted with a straight grip walnut stock and smooth flat buttplate. These early rifles were some of the best produced and show the best pre-war blue finish and the best wood to metal fit. The metal parts were mostly rusted blued, and the straight handled bolt was left in a bright polished look. The stock is the full length model with a short handguard that extends all the way back to the receiver ring. It is complete with an original cleaning rod. It has matching numbers on the complete bolt assembly and stock.

Very fine with 99% blue finish overall. The top of the receiver and front edge of the trigger guard have been professionally restored. The bolt assembly is still in the original white factory finish with the extractor slightly repolished. The stock and handguard are both in excellent condition with only minor handling marks. This is a really sharp looking early Chilean contract Mauser bolt action rifle.
