Description:

A contemporary to the DWM Borchardt and the Mauser Broomhandle pistols, the Bergmann Mars stands as one of the earliest full-power semi-automatic pistols to hit the world market, and is the predecessor of the Bergmann-Bayard pistol. Only 900 Mars pistols in 9mm were produced. Fixed blade front and notch rear sights, with "CAL. 9" on the left side of the receiver, "crown/crown/N" proofs on the barrel, receiver and trigger guard, and "BERGMANN/MARS/PAT(illeg)/S.G.D.G." on the locking block. Fitted with a straw finished hammer and trigger, niter blue safety and locking block, and checkered hardwood grips. The magazine is numbered to match the pistol, and the matching number is pencil-marked inside the grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 95% of the original blue finish, showing a few small patches of pitting, scattered dings and some mild edge wear. 90% plus original straw colors and niter blue are present on the small parts, with some bright contact wear and minor spotting. The grips are fine with some dings and light chips. Mechanically excellent.
