Description:

This is a fine restored example of a post-WWI Weimar era military Luger pistol that was manufactured by the Simson and Co., Suhl Germany. The Simson & Company had an early contract with the Weimar government to manufacture and rework military Lugers for the new government in the 1921-1925 time frame. During this brief window Simson was the sole provider of military Lugers in Germany, later losing the role to DWM/Mauser. This example has the standard "Simson & Co./Suhl" marked front toggle with a restamped "1925" dated chamber area. The right side of the barrel extension has the standard "Eagle/33" and "Eagle/6" Simson & Co. rework/acceptance proofs, with "eagle/6", "VC/eagle/6" on the barrel, individual "eagle/6" proofs on the extractor and front toggle link, and "eagle firing proofs on the extension, barrel and breechblock. It has the standard military style serial number placement with the full serial number on the major components with the last two digits on many of the small parts, straw/niter blue finished small parts, checkered grips and a nickel finished magazine with an unmarked alloy grip base.

Rating Definition:

Fine as professionally restored, with 98% of the blue finish present, showing some mild wear and pitting beneath the surface. The grips are fine, with some mild dents, and the straw and niter blue colors are slightly dim but still strong and solid. The hold open and sear plunger need adjustment, otherwise mechanically fine.
