This is a very fine example of a pre-war Krieghoff Luger that was manufactured in 1936. It is estimated that approximately 7,400 Lugers were manufactured by Krieghoff for the Luftwaffe by the end of 1936; this includes all "S" code and 1936 dated models. Krieghoff was the only official supplier to the Luftwaffe during WWII, and their pistols are prized for their fine fit and blue finish. The chamber area is stamped "1936," and the front toggle is marked with the C-1, 1936 pattern "H, anchor, K/KRIEGHOFF/SUHL" where the "Krieghoff" name runs from the full left side to the right side of the top of the toggle. The left side of the barrel extension, underside of the barrel, and the front of the frame have the full serial number. The barrel is unnumbered. The right side of the barrel extension has the double "Krieghoff Eagle/2" acceptance proof with the single eagle firing proof in between. The right side and underside of the barrel has the same "Eagle/2" acceptance proof and the diameter (884) running lengthwise. It is fitted with the correct WWII Krieghoff coarse checkered, brown plastic grips. It is complete with an original matching serialized, nickel plated magazine with an aluminum base marked: "Eagle/2/6720.

Very fine showing 85% original blue finish. The pistol shows scattered scuffs and handling marks along with some bright edge wear and cold blue on the muzzle. Straw colors are original and 50% remain. The grips are excellent with a few light dings. Mechanically excellent.
