Description:

Constructed primarily from aluminum, this flare pistol bears the marking "F.W. HEYM/SUHL" on the left side near the "27" serial number and "Nazi eagle/M III/3" proofmark, with the reverse marked with an "eagle/inverted heart" proof. While known to have made single barreled flare guns in quantity during and after the war, Heym's output for double barreled flare guns was limited to a few hundred total. Equipped with a multi-position barrel selector, spring-loaded chamber indicators, a smooth forearm with hand stop and a pair of checkered grips. All of the removable functioning parts are polished stainless steel.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 85% plus black anodized finish, showing some edge wear and scattered scuffs overall. The right grip panel has been chipped and reglued/repaired at the toe, and a thin chip is absent from the left panel. There is some play in the barrel catch, otherwise the pistol is mechanically fine.
