Description:

A refinement of the 1932 pattern, the 1936 Olympia was one of the premier target pistols of the day, made in a number of variants suitable for different styles of competition. The Funfkamf (Pentathlon) variant was used actively by German representatives at the 1936 Olympics, securing five medals, and this particular example is pictured on page 59 of Rankin's "Walther Volume III 1908-1980". Adjustable bead blade front sight with white paint highlighting and a windage adjustable "U" notch rear sight, with the Walther banner, address, and "Olympia-Pistole" on the slide, a dovetail slot running the underside of the barrel, a mounting point for weights ahead of the trigger guard, checkered extension grips with a subtle right handed pattern, and an extended magazine numbered to match the pistol. With a "12" numbered barrel weight, sized for a different Olympia variant (likely the Sport variant).

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 90% plus original blue finish, showing some light wear along the high edges and in the weight mounting areas, along with a small amount of spotting and handling marks. The grips are very good, with a few tiny chips and dings and very sharp checkering. Mechanically needs work as it does not cock.
