This is an example of a post WWI DWM Model 1923 Commercial Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol. This example falls into the serial number range that was sold in Europe as there is no "GERMANY" export mark. This example was actually a made 1923 commercial and not a reworked military Luger that was probably manufactured in 1923, with this specific pistol being in very fine condition. It has a blank chamber area with the commercial "Crown/N" proofs on the left side of the barrel extension, front toggle and the underside of the barrel. It is numbered in the commercial style with the full serial number "78969" stamped on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel. It has the standard front and rear sights. The last two digits of the serial number are stamped on the trigger, side plate, takedown lever and rear toggle. It has no German military or Navy acceptance proofs or markings. It is complete with a tin-plated magazine with a unmarked wooden base.

Excellent with 97% of the original blue finish overall with only minor edge wear. The smaller parts retain 98% of their restrawed colors. The grips are in excellent condition with nice sharp, distinct checkering on both sides. Mechanically excellent.
