Fixed sights, with "P.38", "byf/43" and the serial number on the left side of the slide, and "Eagle/135" and "Eagle/Swastika" proofs on the right side, which are repeated on the barrel, locking block and frame. Fitted with dark brown ribbed grips and a "P.38v" marked magazine. With a black leather "WaA23/bml44" (Hans Roemer, Neu-Ulm) marked holster, unmarked extra magazine, and a September 1945 capture paper identifying this pistol by serial number to a private first class in the 787th Field Artillery Battalion, a component of the XIII Corps in the European Theater of WWII.

Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing some bright edge wear and light handling marks overall, as well as the beginnings of a gray patina on the front strap. The grips are also very fine, with a few minor scuffs. The holster is fair as repaired, with a replaced belt loop, some lost stitching, and cracks and scuffs overall. Mechanically excellent.
