Description:

Manufactured in 1901. The barrel has the two-line Hartford address/patent date (1884-1895) marking with "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side and a "P" and "K" on the underside. The left side of the frame is marked "J.T.T.", "R.A.C." and dated "1902". "R.A.C." is also present on the rear cylinder face. The cylinder release, frame, and crane are marked with the partial serial number "3025" with "K" on cylinder release and crane. The butt is fitted with a lanyard ring and marked "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1901/No/173/025".

Rating Definition:

Fine with 70% of the original high polish blue finish. Displaying areas of edge and high point wear, surface scratches, handling marks, and clear markings. The grips are good with multiple deep indentations on the butt, handling marks, and dings on the sides. Mechanically excellent.

Description:

Smith & Wesson Model 1917 Double Action revolver manufactured in early 1917 and stamped with the "GHS" monogram used as a final inspection mark on Smith & Wesson revolvers until April 1918. The pistol has the Smith & Wesson bright polish blue finish with color casehardened trigger, hammer, and lanyard swivel. The two-piece walnut grips are oil finished. The butt is roll-stamped "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917" behind the lanyard swivel and "NO./17/935" in front of it. Smith & Wesson manufactured 163,635 Model 1917 revolvers under government contract between October 1917 and January 1919. These high quality revolvers were used extensively during both WWI and WWII. Includes a "U.S." embossed G&K holster dated "1918".

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus original blue finish, small handling marks, a few light dings, and areas of mild edge wear. The grips are also excellent with handling marks and a few small indentations. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fine with some small scuffs and general handling marks.
