Manufactured in 1941. The Robert Sears inspected Colts marked the transition point from Colt's high polish blue to the Parkerization treatment that would become the standard for the rest of the war. Blade and flat top notch sights, with the Rampant Colt bisected address and patents on the matching numbered slide, "R.S." stamped frame, short milled trigger, wide hammer, checkered slide stop, checkered thumb safety and arched mainspring housing, checkered grips with molded bolsters around the screws and no reinforcing ribs. "R" full-blue magazine and a replacement, reparkerized "COLT 45 AUTO" parkerized barrel. Includes a commercial black leather holster marked "3331" on the back and extra full blue "R" marked magazine.

Very fine with 90% of the faded parkerized finish. Displaying areas of mild high point and edge wear, handling marks, light surface scratches, and small dings. The grips are also very fine with handling marks and a few broken diamond tops in the checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good with handling marks, mild age cracking in the closure strap, and a few small scuffs.
