This is an early production AR-180 rifle, manufactured in Japan by the HOWA manufacturing company. The machinery was originally made for use on the AR-18 rifle which is evident in the markings, with the upper receiver having a "0" added to the "AR-18", and the lower receiver having the original "FIRE" selector marking at the 90 degree position from "SAFE" filled in and the "AUTO" position at 180 degrees from "SAFE" filled in and re-stamped "FIRE", in line with the later standardized AR-180 layout. The bayonet mount is still present however, the lugs have been removed. Fitted with an elevation adjustable protected post front sight and a windage adjustable two-leaf rear sight, with a three prong flash hider, a scope mounting block on the upper receiver, a ventilated plastic handguard, "AR-18" pistol grip and a folding buttstock. Magazine absent. With a green canvas sling.

Excellent, with 95% of the original matte black finish, showing some mild handling marks and edge wear overall. The plastic furniture is in good order, with the occasional light ding. Mechanically excellent.
