Manufactured in 1900 in the original sight safety configuration, and then factory refitted with a more conventional fixed notch rear sight with filler block. Present on the slide are the two-block "BROWNING'S PATENT" and Colt address markings ahead of the circled Rampant Colt logo on the left and the caliber markings on the right ahead of the ejector port. Casehardened flat spur hammer and niter blue trigger with a set of "COLT" banner grips and a full blue magazine marked "PAT'D SEPT.9.1884" on the base. It is correctly numbered "478" on the left, rear, underside edge of the slide.

Very good with 25% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed gray patina on the slide, grip straps, and underside of the frame, with bright original blue in the protected areas around the grips and below the slide, scattered pitting, and mild spotting and handling marks overall. The hammer retains hints of the original color, and the trigger retains 50% niter blue. The grips are good, with some tool marks on the screws, a few dings, and crisp checkering and decoration. Mechanically fine.
