The design of this Winchester center fire single shot rifle action is based on the Model 1885 High Wall Rifle. The most notable difference is the tear drop style lever. The action has the distinctive high frame sides that cover the breech and hammer with the hammer spur exposed. All blue finish with casehardened breech block. The upper tang is marked "TRADE MARK/-WINCHESTER-/REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN.," a Model 1885 type tang marking. (Upper tang markings on Model 1885 rifles are found on serial numbers after 100,000, which started in the early 1910s.) The lower tang is marked with the serial number "1241."

Very fine as refinished. The action retains 98% plus blue finish. The breech block retains 97% of the darkened case colors.
