Manufactured in 1932 by the iconic London firm of Holland & Holland. Single brass bead sight on the smooth concave rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers, auto ejectors, improved cylinder/modified chokes, and flourishes of leafy scroll on top of the rib at the breech. The barrels are marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" on the right and "98 NEW BOND STREET, LONDON" on the left. The barrel flats and water table feature standard British viewing and nitro proofs. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of each barrel, forend hardware, water table, lower tang, and the insides of the lock plates. The frame and detachable side locks are highly engraved in tight swirling English scroll with gold highlighted cocking indicators and "SAFE" marking. The break lever is marked "ROYAL/EJECTOR", and the bottom of the frame is marked "ROYAL/SELF-OPENER/PATENT/1922". Mounted on a finely figured multi-point checkered splinter forearm and straight grip stock with tear drop flats and a solid NOSHOC recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .734/.732 inches; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .058/.059 inches; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; length of pull 15 5/8 inches.

Very fine as professionally restored. The barrels have 98% plus blue finish with light handling marks and a small area of gray patina on the rib. The markings have been buffed but are still clearly legible. The receiver has fine engraving and very clear markings with light handling marks. The trigger guard and lower tang have shallow pitting, faint markings, and evidence of cleaning. The wood is very good with 1/4 inch hairline cracks at the rear of each lock plate, a small sliver missing from the right front of the forearm, scattered pressure indentations, handling marks, and some heavier bruises in the checkering. Mechanically excellent.
