Manufactured by the Tiroler Waffenfabrik between 1898 and 1918. Fixed beaded blade front and automatic flip up rear notch sights, 2 1/2 inch chambers on the shotgun barrels, full chokes and standard commercial inspection and firing proofs. The barrels are marked "TIROLER WAFFENFABRIK" and "JOHANN PETERLONGO, INNSBRUCK". The casehardened box lock action features near full coverage with delicate floral scroll engraving and fine texturing behind the fences, dual triggers with the front serving as an adjustable set trigger for the rifle barrel, Greener style toggle safety, horn trigger guard, and a tang mounted selector switch which acts as the actuator for the rear sight. Checkered pistol grip stock with horn grip cap and smooth blue steel buttplate. Additional barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .674/.675 inches; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .043/.042 inches; drop at comb 2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; 1/8 inch toe in; 13 5/8 inch length of pull.

Very fine as refinished. Displaying 95% of the blue and the action aged to an attractive gray/silver patina. The barrel markings are buffed slightly light though clearly legible with scattered small dings evidence of light pitting under the finish, and some light edge wear. The action shows handling marks and fine engraving. The wood is very fine with attractive grain and color, sharp checkering, a few small indentations, and filled holes along the bottom where sling swivels were once attached. Mechanically excellent.
