Beaded blade front and two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear notch sights with platinum highlighted sighting lines. The barrel rib is marked "I. HOLLIS & SONS, LONDON" behind the rear sight and "AMMUNITION 577 EXPRESS" forward of the rear sight. The underside of the barrels are marked with Birmingham viewing proofs forward of the flats and crossed scepter black powder firing proofs with "577 EX." Nitro proofs are absent indicating it was intended for black powder loads only. The receiver features sculpted fences with simple border line engraving. The locks are marked "I. HOLLIS & SONS" with a simple floral accent around the central lock pin. Mounted on a multi-point checkered splinter forearm with a horn tip insert and pistol grip stock with a checkered "HS" monogrammed hard rubber buttplate. The underside of the barrels and stock are fitted with sling swivel eyes. The stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 3/4 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; ;length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Very good. The barrels have 80% plus period refinished blue finish with areas of light pitting under the blue, clear markings, handling marks, and some small scattered dings. The receiver and lock plates show evidence of cleaning with a mottled gray patina, clear markings, faint traces of original case colors near the hammers, and handling marks. The wood is also very good with well defined checkering, scattered bruising, small chips near the forend tip, and small surface scratches. Mechanically fine.
