Manufactured in 1976, this classically designed Merkel double rifle features fixed ramped beaded blade front and rear notch sights, claw style scope mounts, standard commercial proofs and inspection marks, and is mounted with a one piece scope base and a Hensoldt Wetzlar 4x32 scope. The casehardened receiver features light decorative scroll engraving and standard markings with dual triggers, cocking indicators, and a tang mounted sliding thumb safety. Mounted on a multi-point checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with sling swivels, raised cheekpiece, plastic grip cap, and a checkered plastic buttplate. Stock measurements are: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull.

Very good with 95% plus of the original blue finish on the barrels and 85% of the muted case colors on the receiver. The barrel regulation tenon is protruding from muzzles. Displaying mostly light handling marks on the barrels with clear markings. The receiver has areas that have aged to a light brown patina with handling marks. The wood is very good with a few small indentations and a small chip at the tip of the comb. Mechanically excellent.
